MOULDED BODY WITH PLAIN SPOUT AND LOOP HANDLE. DECORATED IN UNDERGLAZE ENAMELS: ORANGE NECK WITH WHITE TRACINGS; YELLOW BODY WITH AN OVAL TRANSFER-PRINTED PICTURE ON EITHER SIDE OF BODY, COLOURED IN POLYCHROME ENAMELS - ONE OF MARQUIS WELLINGTON ON HORSEBACK WITH FLAG, CANNON AND DISTANT VIEW OF TOWN "SALAMANCA". ON THE OTHER SIDE, A CASTLE, FLAG, DRUM AND CANNON WITH INSCRIPTION: "THE GREATEST GENERAL OF THE AGE, MARQUIS WELLINGTON, DUKE OF CIUDAD RODRIGO. WHO DEFEATED THE FRENCH IN EVERY ENGAGEMENT AND GAIN'D IMMORTAL HONOUR TO THE BRITISH ARMS. AT TALAVERA, BUSACO, ALBUERA, CIUDAD RODRIGO SALAMANCA, MADRID ETC. ETC. HE DROVE THE FRENCH OUT OF PORTUGAL AND IS NOW AS SUCCESSFUL IN RESCUING SPAIN OUT OF THE USURPERS HANDS".
